What I Ate 10.29.17 ( A cold and rainy October day)
Breakfast:
Every week I grab breakfast with my brother at 10:00 AM. Since I eat so late, I usually just get an omelet because I know I'll eat after church. I didn't get the best picture of it, but you get the idea. I always get mushrooms, green peppers, onions, and spinach because it's way easier for me to get in veggies when they're cooked into something.
| Not the best picture ever- I had already finished most of my omelet when I took this. |
In addition to the omelet, I also had a big glass of vanilla almond milk! I usually try to drink it at least once a day because I don't eat very much dairy, and I always wonder if I'm getting enough Calcium.
Snack 1:
I went to our campus diner for lunch today, and while I was waiting, I snacked on some carrot sticks and hummus that they offered at the salad bar.
Lunch:
Around 1:30 PM I got my order from the diner, the hummus-veggie wrap, to go and ate it at my dorm. It was super tasty and had a bunch of lettuce, peppers, squash, and of course hummus in it! I drank my usual decaf green tea with it.
Dinner:
For dinner I heated up some leftover "Cock-a-leekie" soup with barley in it, and ate an orange. I knew I was still hungry and had A BUNCH of cereal with almond milk and peanut butter (weird combo, right?).
Snack 2:
I don't know what it is about weekends but they always make me hungry late at night- I think it's because my sleep schedule gets off.
I made some oatmeal using a packet of quick oats and some hot water (not the healthiest, but it could have been worse) and had some more green tea.
Daily Eating Reflection:
There are days on my journey to health that I will eat better and days that I will eat worse. Though today started off well, toward the end of the day I ended up eating way more than I needed of cereal with peanut butter, making dinner my biggest meal of the day- not what I'm shooting for at all.
The great news, though, is that this showed me an area where I could use improvement. I realized that my eating lots of cereal happened when I was super stressed, and so my goal this week is to eat plenty throughout the day so that at dinner I won' t be overly hungry or reach for food to make me feel less stressed.
I'm so excited to see what new thing this next week brings, especially with Halloween coming up!
